The Impact of Operations Management Supply Chain Class on My Personal and Professional Development

My experience in this class has made me research more deeply into the supply chain and apply for new roles for internships and full-time jobs. As I am very involved and care about sustainability, I want to create a better place and change things through the supply chain. I want to explore more and am still in the process of learning how I can support sustainability through the supply chain. Another thing is that choosing the right company that also supports my values and beliefs will be my goal and career path.

Tasks Accomplished 

1.     Achieved 3.2 GPA for operations management and supply chain 301 class

2.     Networked with at least three different peers and a professor

3.     Completed the group assignments promptly

4.     Went on a company visit in Mukilteo as part of a learning company culture and what a company in furniture and  aerospace does

5.     Learned how to forecast inventories and manage the flow of goods and services, including procurement, production, transportation, and inventory management

6.     Learned about the importance of forecasting, planning, and coordination to ensure that products are delivered to customers promptly and cost-effectively.

It allowed me to develop my ability to work effectively in a team with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. I learned to appreciate different viewpoints and leverage my teammates' unique strengths and skills to achieve our common goals.

Communication was critical in this class to ensure that we understood the course materials and successfully completed group projects. I honed my ability to communicate effectively with others by articulating my ideas, providing feedback, and actively listening to my teammates.

The course taught me how to analyze complex problems, break them into smaller parts, and develop solutions. It helped me to develop critical thinking skills and use available information to make sound decisions.

The course introduced me to various real-world scenarios that required me to adapt and adapt my approach. It helped me learn to cope with changing circumstances, unexpected challenges, and new opportunities.

The class emphasized planning and organizing tasks and resources to achieve specific goals and objectives. It taught me to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with my teammates to achieve our objectives.

My experience in the operations management and supply chain class has given me valuable insights, such as the importance of planning, coordination, and communication in achieving success in any project or endeavor. In terms of my development in leadership competencies, this experience has helped me improve my ability to collaborate effectively with others, especially when working in teams. I learned to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives and leverage these differences to achieve common goals. Additionally, I gained essential problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability skills. Whether in my personal or professional career, the skills and knowledge I gained in this class will continue to be valuable, helping me navigate complex challenges and achieve my goals more effectively.
